The Onslow County Partnership for Children (OCPC) is a private non-profit agency that advocates and provides services for the healthy development of children, by building the strengths and capacities of families, care-giving professionals, and the communities in which they reside.
OCPC is the recipient of a 3-year 21st Century Community Learning Center (CCLC) grant designed to provide academic enrichment and a broad array of services to help students meet academic standards and engage families in student education. The 21st CCLC program is authorized under Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The program will provide after-school academic enrichment opportunities and family engagement for children attending Northwoods Elementary School of Technology and Innovation (K-5). OCPC is seeking highly committed individuals for the following position:
21st Century Community Learning Center Enrichment Coach (Part-Time)
The 21st CCLC Enrichment Coach will provide academic support and educational enrichment to identified students in grades K-5 after school at Northwoods Elementary. The Enrichment Coach will support the framework for a strengths- and relationship-based program that will support the visions of Onslow County Schools and the Onslow County Partnership for Children while complying with the goals and requirements of 21st CCLC. This framework will foster an environment that supports students, families, and staff to work collaboratively to ensure student success.
The Enrichment Coach will facilitate academic and enrichment activities. This includes homework help and enrichment activities. Ongoing communication and collaboration with the 21st CCLC Program Coordinator and Academic Coaches to ensure program goals and objectives are met. The Enrichment Coach assists in facilitating academic and enrichment lessons that 1) support and enhance each student’s learning, and 2) are aligned with the school day instruction. These enrichment activities are meant to be interactive and engaging, and should include opportunities for students to practice individually or in groups. The Enrichment Coach is responsible for providing assistance in the area(s) for which s/he is hired; modification of these areas may be made only with permission of the Program Coordinator. Other duties that support the implementation of 21st CCLC may be required.
The 21st CCLC Enrichment Coach should have experience with education systems, working with children, and family engagement. Ability to be engaging with enrichment activities, flexibility in meeting student personal and academic needs, and project based learning. Experience working with diverse families and supporting diverse learners is vital. A minimum of an associate degree preferred or working towards completion of degree, related field experience, and enthusiasm to work with children
